Computed tomography is used for 3D reconstruction . It provides a good image quality with high radiations.Internal morphology of soft tissues and skeletal structures can be greatly improvised by the advent of 3D dental imaging and CT -scan. The first intra oral 3D cam held scanner was developed in the USA by oramatrix company. The video camera records the reflection of organised light on the dental crown as they move around the dentition in around for one minute . The computer processes and fuses to form a full 3D dentistry. The aim of the study is to know the awareness, knowledge and practise about 3D dental imaging among dental students and to improve its scope in future.Based on cross sectional study a survey was conducted among dental students on 3D dental imaging.the questionnaire was distributed through an online survey link google forms.Nearly 150 students participated in it. The data was collected and compiled and arranged in a systematic manner and analysed in terms of frequencies in SPSS software. The confidence interval was found to be 95% and statistical significance is p<0.05.This study was concluded by creating awareness and improvising the knowledge about 3D dental imaging among dental students.
