The study aims to assess the complications of radiotherapy among dental students using a questionnaire-based survey. The occurrence rate of oral cancer has become increasingly high in the Indian subcontinent over the past few years, thus leading to the increased use of radiotherapy as a treatment option, which has shown to cause various complications. Prior to conducting the study a questionnaire was prepared on Google forms and distributed using the convenience sampling method, a total of 107 volunteers participated in this study. The data was then tabulated and statistical analysis was done using the SPSS software. The data was analysed using the Chi square test ( a p value of < 0.05 was considered statistically significant). The study reveals that the majority of the volunteers ( 57% ) have a below-average knowledge of complications of radiotherapy and a mean score of 45%. Association between year of study and response for the question βAt what dose does osteoradionecrosis occur ?β and was found to be statistically significant, the association test suggests Interns rank highest 44.9% in this regard. This study reveals dental students have insufficient knowledge of the complications of radiotherapy and thus the need for its awareness is crucial.
