Abstract:

The aim of this study was to assess the awareness of different methods of haemorrhage management among undergraduate dental students. The occurrence of blood loss is very common in a dental practice, commonly associated with post extraction bleeding. If post extraction bleeding is not managed it can lead to soft tissue Haematomas and eventually severe blood loss. Severe blood loss and major haemorrhage is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. The diagnosis of the type of haemorrhage, helps in the management of haemorrhage. This was a questionnaire based study, conducted among the undergraduate third, fourth years and house surgeons. The responses were collected using google forms and tabulated in the excel sheets and was transferred to the SPSS software for statistical analysis. The 20.33% house surgeons had good awareness, while 7.33% of the final years had good awareness, onky 5.67% of the third years had good awareness on methods of haemorrhage management. and practice of the haemorrhage management methods than the third and final years.
