Abstract:

An abscess is an assortment of pus that has built up by disintegrating tissue and surrounded by inflamed tissue. Signs and symptoms of abscesses include redness, pain, warmth, and swelling. virulence of disease is described in the term of Sheegravidahitvat in the definition of Vidradhi. Father of surgery Acharya sushruta has devoted exclusive two chapters for vidradhi one is to explain causes and symptoms and other is for treatment of different abscess in his book named Sushruta samhita. As per Acharya Sushruta if vidradhi has been converted in pakvavastha than first we should drain the abscess cavity and after that treatment of vrana regimen should be followed strictly to avoid recurrence. In the present context, a 35 years old female suffering from lower back abscess was admitted and treated with Polyherbal Dashang lepa, jatyadi tail application and some oral herbal medication. Anti-hyperglycemic were given to counteract the infection. Treating an abscess in a diabetic patient needs a complete follow- up plan to avoid any opportunistic infection.
