Phyllanthus niruri L. is recognized to contain polyphenol compounds that have antioxidant activity. This
research was conducted to determine the effect of natural antioxidants contained in the Phyllanthus niruri L.
with 96% ethanol extract in decreasing blood glucose levels in diabetic mellitus mice that experienced diabetic
nephropathy. This experimental study used a pre-test and post-test design involving three treatment groups
(doses of 50, 100, 200mg/KgBW) and two control groups (normal and negative). The Phyllanthus niruri L. with
96% ethanol extract in the doses of 50, 100, and 200mg/KgBW has not been able to reduce blood glucose
levels in diabetic nephropathy mice with the p-value of respectively 0.144; 0.109 and 1.000 (p> 0.05).
