Awareness on Recent Advances in Development of Vaccines for Emerging Diseases among Dental Students

| Abstract:

Many infectious diseases are emerging nowadays and it spreads easily among people. Vaccines development is more important for preventing transmission of infectious diseases. Vaccines are the component of disease prevention for emerging viral infections, because other medical options are limited and non existent. The main aim of this study is to assess the awareness about the advances in development of vaccines for emerging diseases among dental students. A Survey based questionnaire was done to provide the knowledge about the emerging infectious diseases and vaccines for the diseases. A self-designed 17 questions were collected through google form app. The data were statistically analysed by SPSS software version 22. Results are collected in the form of pie charts. 67% of students are aware about the advancement in vaccine development. From the observed data, it is concluded that the dental students are highly aware of the infectious diseases and the development of vaccines for preventing the emerging diseases.
