Abstract: Telemedicine allows health care professionals to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients at a distance using telecommunications technology. It is also effective for long distance communication and it is very useful for the discussion and consultation between experts and junior clinician. It also helps to make long distance patients and the clinician contact easier. The aim of the present study is to explore the awareness of telemedicine as an emerging trend among health care professionals. We have observed the association between gender with regard to awareness about telemedicine in which 37% of female participants were aware about telemedicine than male which was about 12%, (p=0.405). The association between groups was assessed by chi square test where p< 0.05 was considered statistically significant. From the obtained results ,to encapsulate there is no significant difference between the responses received from male and female participants. Based on the analysis of the survey the findings concluded that the awareness about telemedicine among health professionals is at a moderate level.
