To evaluate the age and gender of Lichen Planus among patients visiting a Dental College and comparing their age and gender with the occurrence of Lichen Planus. Data was collected from the college records and calculation was done. The reports included the age group, gender of the patient with their Patient Identification Number and name. Records of each case were examined and tabulation of data was done in an Excel sheet followed by statistical analysis using SPSS software by IBM. The data was analysed and results were obtained and inferences were drawn as graphs and charts. In this study we observed that the prevalence of Lichen Planus was found to be 0.03%, in which female predilection is higher than males and the age group of 40-60 years was most commonly influenced than the younger age groups. The correlation for age and gender associated with prevalence of Lichen Planus was found to be (p>0.05) hence it was found that there is no correlation of age and gender associated with Lichen planus. The present study showed an increased prevalence of Oral Lichen planus among females compared to males and a strong association with the age group of 40-60years (elder adults) which was in concordance with the existing literature.
