Anxiety is the body's reaction to any change that requires an adjustment or response. The body reacts to these changes with physical, mental, and emotional responses. Dental students have to face the stress related to dentistry as a profession. Furthermore, increasing stress may result in declining student academic performance. As per the current pandemic situation, online classes are the only way for teaching and learning. The aim of the study was to assess the impact and perception of stress associated with online classes among dental students in India. A study was carried out by using multiple choice structured questionnaire among 120 attendees, the questionnaire was prepared in such a way that we can assess the attitude, that perception and impact of stress of online classes in dental students. The data was collected and analysed statistically. Although most of the attendees were feeling okay with the online classes, the level of perception of some attendants associated with online classes posed to be dissatisfactory. A direct positive correlation between impact and perception of stress towards online classes was found, which reveals that the attendants who are feeling not that stressful are with better attitude. The primary sources of distress are preceded by nearly 75 students giving more number of assignments and giving very less time to finish them. Within the limitations of our study the impact of online classes related to stresses a bit more on students. It appears to be, there is a need for implementation of better online tools for teaching in order to improve the situation of stress and anxiety caused by online teaching among students. More one to one sessions, webinars to lighten the situation, extracurricular activities and mind relaxation techniques can be taught to the students.
