Awareness about Usage of Face Mask and Hand Gloves - A Questionnaire Survey

| Abstract:

It is necessary for each and every citizen travelling outside or taking care of an infected person to wear a face mask and hand gloves in pandemic times. One method used to prevent the spread of disease is the face masks. They can also be called dental masks, isolation masks, laser masks, surgical masks, surgery masks. This helps in reducing germ propagation. When someone is ill a face mask can reduce the amount of germs released by the wearer and can prevent others from getting sick. The main aim of the study is to assess the awareness of usage of face masks and hand gloves among the Chennai population. A cross-Sectional questionnaire was created which deals with usage of face mask and hand gloves and distributed among 302 people of the general population and the results were recorded and given in pie chart and graph format using SPSS software. About 73.2% of the population were aware about the usage of face masks and hand gloves.
