Abstract: The aim of the present study was to identify whether there is any gender specific association between cervical spondylosis and psychological distress among the adult male and female population. Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative disease of cervical vertebrae bodies and intervertebral discs in the neck. Depression and psychological distress are associated with poor health with increase in age. In the present study, gender association with cervical spondylosis and psychological distress is assessed. This was a survey conducted in an online forum, survey planet. It was a questionnaire based survey. A set of 10 questions to assess symptoms of cervical spondylosis and psychological distress of the participants of different age and gender were given. The data was collected and statistically evaluated using SPSS software. In this study, we observed that 22% of total participants showed incidence of cervical spondylosis in association with distress. Incidence of females (22%) is more than Male (16%). Within the limitations of the survey, we can conclude that there is gender specific association between cervical spondylosis and psychological distress is more in females compared to males.
