Awareness of Protective Measure Taken By Government and Self-Protective Measure during Pandemic - A Questionnaire Survey

Abstract: According to the quote, prevention is better than cure, self- protectiveness is always better to keep yourself safe from infectious disease. Both individual and community protection and awareness of the disease is necessary. Creating a public health emergency plan requires unprecedented cooperation and active participation by both the Chennai public and government sectors. Equal participation from the government, to control the pandemic situation is also done. The main aim of the study is to evaluate the awareness about protective measures taken by the government and self-protective measures during the pandemic condition. A cross-sectional questionnaire was created which deals with a check-in awareness level of the chennai population about the protective measures they take during the pandemic condition. The survey was taken from 540 participants, regardless of their age. The statistical analysis used was SPSS software. After obtaining statistical results, it is clear that two-thirds of the Chennai population, about 73.1% are aware of the government rules. Majority of the study population about 65.74% follow self-protective measures such as social distancing, 7.04% use hand gloves, 16.85% use face masks and 10.37% of study population use sanitizer during pandemic conditions.
