Chitosan is a well-known compound with strong anti-microbial activity. The chitin and phenyl rings deviate from co-planarity with an inter and intra-molecular (–C2-N=CH–) and (–C6–C=N–) imine bonds. The title compound C69H118BrN10O41 is not a planner, with a dihedral angle among the planes of the three aryl rings. To create more potent anticancer agents, a novel chitosan derivative have been obtained by simultaneous modification at C6 (Amino group) and C2 (Carbonyl group) positions and characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, GC-Mass spectroscopy, and thermal analysis. The structure is a heterocyclic derivative constituting a stimulating class of compounds with synthetic flexibility and effective biological activities.
