The proposed method describes fast, simple, economical, responsive and highly accurate method for determining of ferrous ions using batch and CFIA/ merging zones techniques. The method was based on a direct reaction of Ferrous ions with 2,2? dipyridyl agent to form a pink-red complex which has a strong absorption at 522 nm using distilled water as carrier stream. The reaction being stoichiometric with a 1:3 ratio (M: L) via Job’s and molar ratio methods. The suggested technique was permit for determination of Fe (II) in pure material and pharmaceutics products with linear range (3-30) µg.mL-1 and (8-100) µg.mL-1 for batch and CFIA / merging zone methods, respectively. Verified sample throughput of 54 h-1. The proposed method was applied successfully for estimation of ferrous sulfate in multi-vitamin tablets with high selective and sensitive of the obtained results gained are favorably compared with those given by a reference method presented in the pharmacopoeia.
