Data Analytics in Gait Analysis: A Review

| Abstract:
|
Gait analysis is a process that examines the mechanics of walking or running to create predictive models for
the problem of interest. Data analytics techniques can be used to make improvements in the analysis, as shown
in the cited works. A review of current works in gait analysis shows that such techniques have been adopted
and are being refined to best suit the characteristics of gait data. Potential areas for further refinement include
development of large data sets for gait data, more sophisticated feature engineering, and exploration of
alternative classification algorithms.
