Knowledge and Awareness About the Learning Difficulties Associated with Poor Brain Connectivity

Author: TRISHA SASIKUMAR, R.GAYATRI DEVI, DR.GANESH LAKSHMANAN
Abstract: Learning difficulties are a set of disabilities that certain people face. It is a condition impacting an individual’s ability to gain knowledge and skills at the same rate as their peers. They might be caused due to mental handicaps or cognitive disorders. This disorder affects people of all ages and does not have common symptoms. Dyslexia and Down’s Syndrome also come under these disorders. The aim of this study was to ensure students have knowledge and awareness about learning difficulties associated with poor brain connectivity among dental college students. A self-administered questionnaire comprising 10 questions was circulated to 100 people through an online Google forms link. The questionnaire was studied carefully and corresponding answers were marked by the participants. The data was collected and statistically analysed. The overall result was positive. Most of them know about the learning difficulties associated with poor brain connectivity, its causes and other features. 89% of the people knew that there could be some people among us who are unable to gain knowledge and skills at the same rate as others and another 84% of the participants knew that they could be caused due to mental handicaps or cognitive disorders. This proves an outright positive result. Based on this survey, many of the people are aware of learning difficulties and its association with poor brain connectivity.
