Abstract:

The immune system in a broad sense is a mechanism that allows a living organism to discriminate among self and non self. Immune system occurs in multicellular organisms as simple and also in ancient sea sponges. Multicellular lifestyles would be not possible without the ability to exclude outside lifestyles from the inner environment. Relevant cross sectional studies and results were included in the survey to assess the level and knowledge and awareness regarding how immunity plays a major role in health. A cross sectional study was conducted in a sample of 100 individuals and data was collected and interpreted with the help of a questionnaire spread through an online survey link. 4.8% prefer the fact personal hygiene is very very important while 73.3% of the respondents suggest that personal hygiene is not of that great importance for maintaining health. The aim of the survey was to develop awareness among individuals and also to depict the importance of immunity on health. The results of the survey showed that some knowledge gaps exist among individuals regarding the importance of immunity on their health .Hence the need for training and conducting complete awareness regarding immunity and its benefits it plays on maintaining health has to be conducted
