Awareness on Use of Caffeine in The Soft Drink Industry Among Teenagers

Abstract: Caffeine is a stimulant drug and prevents drowsiness.caffeine is used for the treatment of bronchopulmonary disease (premature infront). Caffeine is mostly used in soft drinks. It has the capacity to increase temporary sense of wakefulness & alertness. Another name of caffeine is methyltheobromine. Consumption of caffeine among adults & children is increased.Caffeine is used as a common ingredient in the beverage industry1. Caffeine can delay the sleepiness of a person.Most of the sports people consume energy drinks can cause myocardial infarction in young people.Self administrated questionnaire about caffeninary products ,distribution to 100 participants through online google form link and data is collected and analysed. From the collected data 49.5% of teenagers are aware that soft & energy drinks contain caffeine and 69.9% of teenagers accept that consumption of caffeine can cause heart disease & increase BMR. This survey helps to assess the awareness about caffeine in the soft drink industry among teenagers.
