Network Performance Analysis of Routing Protocols RIP and OSPF using Net Sim

Author: MOHAMED NDIAYE, DR. KURUVIKULAM CHANDRASEKARAN ARUN
Abstract: The principle of routing information in the network communications is routing protocols. Nowadays there are different types of routing protocols which includes the most famous: RIP (Routing Information Protocol) and OSPF (Open Shortest Path First). In this paper, our scope is to analyze the performances of these routing protocols in terms of bandwidth, throughput, delay, latency and other network metrics in order to define which protocols are widely used for routing information in the network communications. The Net Sim simulation tool is used to design our network and analyze these routing protocols.
Keyword: Routing, Dynamic Routing Protocols, RIP, OSPF.
