The aim of the study is to assess the knowledge and practice of pit and fissure sealant among the dental students.A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 100 dental students. An online questionnaire was distributed electronically using a link generated. The questionnaire consisted of 10 closed ended questions. It was designed to obtain dental students knowledge and practice towards pit and fissure sealants. The collected data were tabulated in excel sheets and imported to IBM SPSS Statistics, Version 20. Chi-square test was performed to determine the statistical difference between the two variables. In this present study 59% were females and 41% were males. 84% of respondents were familiar with the technique of placing pit and fissure sealant. 59% of the participants believe that resin sealant is more effective than glass ionomer sealant. 76% of the participants used conventional ways such as cotton rolls to isolation. Chi square test performed shows that females were more aware about sealants having a restorative effect, and can be used for incipient caries P value <0.05 ,statistically significant. Chi square test performed shows that interns were more familiar with the technique of placement of pit and fissure sealant P value <0.05, statistically significant. From the study we can conclude that the level of evidence-based knowledge about the appropriate use of sealants were unsatisfactory. The students must be always updated about the advancements in procedures and principles of pit and fissure sealants
