Hypertension is one of the leading non communicable disorder which leads to various cardiovascular events and lays a vital role in mortality and morbidity. Resistance hypertension and uncontrolled raised blood pressure are the major challenges faced by the prescriber and for this non adherence is the best supporter. In this study we have determined the level of adherence and how it can be increased by counselling the patient visiting cardiology department. We have also determined the outcomes of antihypertensive therapy which could help to improve the patient quality of life. In our study we observed initially high adherence rate was 51.28% which have been increased to 77.28% by monitoring and regular counselling of the patient determining the vital role of clinical pharmacist in improving the patient quality of life. Similarly the non adherence rate which was 26.56% initially was reduced to 9.85%. Hence further measures to has to be taken and more efforts has to be required with new measures to achieve maximum adherence.
