Synthesis, In Vitro Anticancer Activity Study of Some New Antipyrine Derivatives Containing Thiazolidin-4-One Ring

Abstract:

A series of new antipyrine derivatives containing thiazolidin-4-one ring system were synthesized via the cycloaddition reaction of a series of Schiff bases 1a-e with mercaptoacetic acid under reflux conditions. The structure of the new antipyrine derivatives 2a-e was confirmed by spectral data. In addition, the cytotoxic activity of the target compounds 2a-e was investigated in vitro against breast carcinoma cell line (MCF-7). In general, the bioassay results revealed that the synthesized compounds 2a-e have a promising reducing tumor growth comparison to the normal cells.
