Abstract: Prostate diseases are the prevalent age-related disease of the male. Chronic inflammation strongly associated with both benign and malignant conditions of the prostate that leads to accumulation of immunocompetent cells which secret various cytokines that provide the suitable environment for various disease progression specially cancer. This study designed to estimate the serum level of several cytokines (IL-1ß,IL-4,1l-6-IL-8and IL-17) by Sandwich ELISA. Blood samples were obtained from 297 subjects which divided into three groups (PCa, BPH and healthy) then the serum level cytokines was measured for each group. The Results showed that all cytokines except IL-4 expressed high serum level in the PCa group than BPH and healthy with significant differences, while serum level IL-4 significantly elevated in BPH patients when compared to both controls and prostate cancer patients. Highly expressed serum level of all previously listed cytokines which produced by various immune cells strongly associated with development of prostates disease in the old Iraqi men specially progression of PCa characterizes with advanced grade.
