Nutrition provides all organs with plastic and energetic material and provides them with vitality. Unfortunately, in the modern world, food is often unbalanced and unsafe. The study material was 37 literature sources. The research methods were analysis and synthesis methods, induction and deduction methods, as well as a generalization method. The fundamental role of the brain in the formation of eating behavior has been identified. It is realized under the influence of a number of neurotransmitters on the body - norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin, as well as the hormones leptin and ghrelin. Eating enhances the activity of centers of positive emotions in the brain. As a result, eating is often the only source of positive emotions in humans. Often this leads to overeating. Experienced marketers and psychologists create food products with multi-sensory appeal to increase food sales. They cause maximum interest in the consumer due to the presence of a whole system of stimuli that form a person's positive emotions when consumed. This virtually eliminates the possibility of a conscious choice of a food product on the part of the buyer and creates conditions for him to overeat. Unfortunately, there are still many unclear issues regarding the physiology of eating behavior that are now being actively studied.
