Liquid electrodes of polymers imprinted with levofloxacin (lev)was constructed using precipitation polymerization. The molecularly imprinted (MIP) and non imprinted (NIP) polymers were synthesized using lev as a template. In the polymerization process, vinylacetate (VA) was used as monomer ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a cross-linker and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as an initiator. The molecularly imprinted membranes and the non-imprinted membranes were prepared using Di B Sabacat (DBS)and Di methyl adepate (DMA)as plasticizers in PVC matrix. The slopes and detection limits of the liquid electrodes ranged from -29.03 – -20.45 mV/decade and 2×10-5M–6×10-5M, respectively and their response time was about 1 minute. The Liquid electrodes were filled with 0. 1 M standard solution of drug and their response was stable in a pH range from 1.0 to 11.0 and with good selectivity for over several species. The developed electrodes were successfully applied for the analyte determination in preparation pharmaceutical sample without any time-consuming pretreatment steps.
