Numerous indices have been performed to analyse periodontal healing after flap surgery but each has specific shortcomings. Landry Wound Healing score, was evaluated in the present study. In periodontal surgery, the surgical site is usually covered with surgical dressing. It has been claimed that periodontal dressing reduces the risk of wound infection, bleeding and granulation tissue formation and improves tissue healing .The aim of the present study was to assess healing after periodontal flap surgery with and without periodontal pack. Eighty patients who underwent flap surgery from June 2019 to March 2020 were included in the study. Group I- n=40 ( With Periodontal Pack), Group II- n=40 (Without Periodontal Pack). The healing index was evaluated using Landry Index Scoring from 1-5.The healing after periodontal flap surgery was significantly better in patients without periodontal pack compared to patients who received periodontal pack after flap surgery(p<0.05) The present study showed that patients who didn’t receive periodontal pack during flap surgery had better healing scores compared to the patients who received periodontal pack.
