Low molecular weight heparin belongs to the class of antithrombotic agents. They are smaller fragments with larger mucopolysaccharide which is derived from unfractionated heparin. It enhances the antithrombin property and thereby produces antithrombin by inhibiting factor Xa. it reduces the incidence of deep vein thrombosis in patients with placebo. The mode of action is somewhat different from the conventional heparin. It could be used Xa. It reduces the incidence of deep vein thrombosis in patients with placebo. It could be used in the treatment of DVT prophylaxis, venous thromboembolism in pregnancy, unstable angina, prevention of clotting in extracorporeal circuits. Its main use is in the case of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It is a choice for the obstetrics and it contains a lot of potential benefits and can be definitely used in a clinical practice to treat patients.it has its uses in children and pregnant women. Its use has brought about various advantages and hence can be employed in the clinical practice for the benefit of the people.
