Cytokines are the regulators of the host responses in case of infection. They act as the mediators in transmitting signals within the body. They are responsible for signaling, activation, facilitation and also determines the responses. They are soluble receptors in the human immune response. They play an essential role in immune cell development and immune effector functions. All the cytokines have a similar tertiary structure that consists of four long alpha-helices made of a specific orientation. The biological activity of the cytokine role is an important role that is discussed here. Regulation of IL-7A in signal mechanisms helps in the immune system, especially in infectious and inflammatory diseases. Administration of antibodies related to pro-inflammatory cytokines helps in preventing multiple sclerosis. Crohn disease caused due to the upregulation of pro-inflammatory bowel disease is identified. Further roles of the biological activity of cytokines are discussed. This review type of study explains the biological activities and also some of the rules of cytokines in different pathogenesis. Hence it will be useful for future clinical assessment. Elaborated research articles are needed in the future to assist each role of cytokines and their activities in future studies.
