The aim of this review is to determine immunity in an immunocompromised state. Immunodeficiency is a heterogenous group of diseases affecting different components of the immune system of the individual. Patterns of infection, etiology and organ involvement are not similar in this risky population. Patients who are immunocompromised have a reduced ability to fight infections and other diseases. Immunodeficiency may be caused by certain diseases such as AIDS, cancer, diabetes, malnutrition, and certain genetic disorders. Apart from the diseases, malnutrition serves to be the most important concern for immunity. In the present modern world most children are less immune and susceptible to several diseases. Once the immunity is less, infections start entering and pose a serious threat to the human body’s defense system. Antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections commonly include strep throat, urinary tract infections, and certain types of pneumonia. Some research has found that antibiotics may also weaken the immune system and decrease the ability to fight off infection, whether it's bacterial or not. The conclusion of this review is to create awareness and knowledge among the people about immunity in immunocompromised state and this review has provided a clear view about clinical manifestation, diagnosis, prevention of infection in Immunocompromised patients, current scenario, immunorestorative methods regarding immunity in immunocompromised state and treatment procedure and technique for the betterment of patients in future.
