Author: , DESAK GEDE SRI ANDAYANI, NOVIK NUR HIDAYAT
Abstract: Purpose: production and characterization of antimicrobial metabolite from Streptomyces sp. TT41 Methodology: We have produced antimicrobial agent from Streptomyces sp. TT41 in 1 L working volume fermentor in media containing sources of carbon, nitrogen and minerals for 7 days, 200 rpm, pH 7, and 1 vvm. The antimicrobial metabolite was characterized by 1H, 13 C, HMBC, HMQC and LCMS. Results: The results of microbial identification by 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed Streptomyces sp. TT41 was the new sub species that had 99% similarity with Streptomyces malaysiensis. Although they were similar, the new 6-hydroxy-5- (2-oxo-2-phenylethyl) -5.6-dihidropyrimidin-2 (1H) compound produced by Streptomyces sp. TT41. It has antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtillis, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella typhimurium A, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and fungal pathogen Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans, Microsforum gypseum, Trichophyton sp. Applications/Originality/Value: as a raw material for medicine
Keyword: Streptomyces sp. TT41, 16S rRNA
