Synthesis of some new thiazolidinones derivative from progesterones

| Abstract:
|
This study is concerned with the synthesis and characterization of 4-thiazolidinone derivatives (3a,3b). These compounds were prepared by reacting thioglycolic acid with the appropriate Schiff bases (imines) by heating at 50-60 °C in chloroform with moderate yields (51–75 %). The structures of these 4-thiazolidinone derivatives were established on the basis of spectral studies using IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR.
