Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends in Covered Smut: A General Review

Covered smut is a fungal disease caused by “Ustilago hordei”. The bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “Covered smut”. All published articles related to “Covered smut” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the scientific literature regarding the “Covered smut” and also to find out the trends related to the same. The most active journals in this research domain are the Canadian Journal of Plant Science, Canadian Journal of Plant, and PLoS Pathogens. The most active country is Canada and followed by the USA. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada of Canada is the most active research institute in this research domain. The most active authors who had made valuable contributions related to Covered smut disease are Chong J. and Doehlemann G.
