Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends in Valsa Canker: A General Review

Abstract: Valsa canker is a fungal infection caused by the fungus “Valsa mali.”Pruning in winter will result in the high spreading of the disease. The common symptoms of this disease include canker on wood systems, discoloration of barks and stem rotThis bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “Valsa canker”. All published articles related to “Valsa canker” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding the “Valsa canker” and also to find out the trends related to the same. Valsa canker is an interesting research domain and the most active journals related to this plant disease are Plant Disease, Australian path pathology, Forest Ecology, and Management. China is the country where active research is going on regarding the Valsa canker, followed by Italy. The top organization focusing on Valsa canker is the North West A and F University, followed by USDA of USA. The most active author who had made valuable contributions related to Valsa canker disease are Huang L. Eager T., Egeland L., Johnson E.W., Kemp P.A., Mask R.A., and Shepperd W.D. Valsa Canker offers a new avenue for researchers.
