Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends in Phytophthora Fruit Rot

Abstract:

Phytophthora fruit rot is a fungal infection caused by the pathogen “Phytophthora spp”. These fungi can also cause root rots, stem lesions, and leaf spots. This bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “Phytophthora fruit rot”. All published articles related to “Phytophthora fruit rot” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding the “Phytophthora fruit rot” and also to find out the trends related to the same. Phytophthora fruit rot is an interesting research domain and the most active journals related to this plant disease are Plant and Molecular Plant Pathology. The USA is the country where active research is going on in this research domain followed by Denmark and Ecuador. The top organization focusing on Phytophthora fruit rot is the Scottish Crop Research Institute of United Kingdom, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Michigan University of USA. The most active author who had made valuable contributions related to Phytophthora fruit is Hausbeck M.K., Huitema E., Jupe J., and Stam.
