To Study the Adhesion Capacity of The Natural Gum on Various Substrates

Author: NISHANT THAKUR
Abstract: Gum acacia and tragacanth are used in the pharmaceutical formulation for bulk addition and viscosity enhancement. They are also used for the their sdhesive properties and binding role.Gum acacia provided the highest extent of the bibdibg as compared to the tragacanth at the same concenteration. Also it was attributed the electerostatic charges thatare there at the surface of the gum and substarte. The behavior of gum varies with substrate to substrate.the gum ragacanth provided 39cm2area under curve for bioadhesion, almost double that of the tragacanth.
Keyword: Gum, binding, adhesion, bioaadhesion testing
