In both developed and developing countries breast cancer (BC) is a serious illness, responsible for significant health care burden. Development of resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs, radiation and hormonal therapy is one of the common problem for many of the patients with BC. The current demand is the need of new, inexpensive treatment for BC. Phytochemical from plants are considered to bioactive, considered to be attracting the attention of researchers. Myriad of developments like cell cycle regulation, apoptosis activation, angiogenesis and metastatic suppression are regulated by plethora of plant constituents responsible for decreasing the cancer growth. In the present review, key medicinal plant constituents and its role in BC has been discussed. The detailed governing roles of phytoconstituents has been discussed in this review article.
