Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends in European Brown Rot: A General Review

Abstract:

European brown rot is a fungal infection affecting fruit trees, caused by “Monilinia laxa. This disease appears during the spring season. Usage of resistant variants is one of the ways to manage this disease. This bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “European brown rot”. All published articles related to “European brown rot” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding the “European brown rot” and also to find out the trends related to the same. European brown rot is an interesting research domain and the most active journals related to this plant disease are Plant Disease, FEBS Letters, Trees - Structure and Function, and European Journal of Plant Pathology. Germany is the country where active research is going on regarding the European brown rot, followed by Austria. The top organization focusing on European brown rot is the French National Institute for Agriculture Research and USDA. The most active author who had made valuable contributions related to European brown rot disease are Brischke C., Hammel K.E., Jensen K.A., and Kerem.
