| Abstract:

Emulgels can be efficient tools of delivering drugs topically. Quite often cosmeceuticals and Pharmaceuticals can be formulated as emulgels for efficient delivery of hydrophobic drugs. Emulgels have dual characteristics of gels and emulsions. Components to be included in emulgels are oil phase surface active agents and drugs and gelling Agents. This paper provides a complete view on development of of email gels. Various components and examples also so has been discussed. Some marketed formulations also have been mentioned in the paper.
