A Bibliometric Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends in Basal Stem Rot

Abstract: Basal stem rot is a plant disease caused by pathogens from “Ganoderma” species. Basal stem rot is a disease having serious economic consequences in the world. Yellow and or unopened leaves and slow growth are the main symptoms of basal stem rot disease. Early detection is very essential for better treatment of this plant disease. This bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “basal stem rot”. All published articles related to “basal stem rot” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding the basal stem rot and also to find out the trends related to the same. Journal of Oil Palm Research and Plant pathology are the most active journals and Precision Agriculture is the journal with the highest average citations. The most active country is Malaysia and Germany is the country with the highest average citations per publication. Malaysian Palm Oil Board and Department of Land Management of University Putra of Malaysia are the most active research organizations. Bah Lias Research station of Indonesia and the Department of Civil Engineering of University Putra of Malaysia are the most productive organizations in the research regarding basal stem rot. The most active author is Idris A.S and Hamdan N is the author with the highest average citation.
