Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends in Apple Mosaic

Abstract:

Apple mosaic is a viral infection affecting over sixty-five species of plants. The major hosts of the “Apple mosaic” are apple, cherry, and peach. Apple mosaic disease is caused by a pathogenic virus, of the family “Bromoviridae”. This bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “Apple mosaic”. All published articles related to “Apple mosaic” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding the “Apple mosaic” and also to find out the trends related to the same. Apple mosaic is an interesting research domain and the most active journals related to this plant disease are Plant Disease, Journal of Virological Methods, and Advances in Virus Research. The USA is the most active country regarding the Apple mosaic, followed by Austria and Italy. The top organization focusing on Apple mosaic is the National Institute of Fruit Tree Science of Japan and the Northwest A and F University of China. The most active author who had made valuable contributions related to Apple mosaic disease are Myrta A., Bessho H., Mackenzie D.J., Ban Y., Matsuyama Y., Honda C., Igarashi M., and Moriguchi T.
