Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends In Anthracnose: A General Review

Abstract:

Anthracnose is a group of fungal infections caused by the fungus in the genus “Colletotrichum”. Cool and wet conditions are essential for the spreading of this plant disease. Anthracnose is transmitted through wind, rain, insects, and farm equipment. This bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “anthracnose”. All published articles related to “anthracnose” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding the “anthracnose” and also to find out the trends related to the same. The most active journals related to this plant disease are Plant Disease and Studies in Mycology. The USA and China are the countries where active research is going on and the top organizations focusing on the anthracnose are the College of Food Science of the Southwest University of China; CBS-Knaw Fungal Biodiversity Centre of Netherlands; CABI Europe-UK; Royal Botanic Gardens of UK; and School of Science, Mae Fah Luang University of Thailand. The most active author related to anthracnose is Wang Y, Woudenberg J.H.C., Crous P.W., and Melo L.C.
