This work performed to evaluate the anti-obesity activities of green coffee and Moringa oleifera beverages compared to some commercial drugs (Orlistat and Chitosan) and their possible effects on insulin receptors in the ovary. The experiment was performed on 35 albino female rats divided into 7 groups : (G1)as a negative control ,G2 was fed on high fat diet only (HFD) , G3(HFD+ Orlistat) , G4 (HFD+ Chitosan) , G5(HFD+ Moringa extract ) , G6 (HFD+ Green coffee extract) and G7 (HFD+ Mixture of green coffee and moringa) for 70 days. Morphometric, biochemical and histological examination were studied. Moreover; globulin and homeostatic index of Insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were calculated. Results revealed that, feeding with Orlistat, Chitosan, Green coffee , Moringa or mixture of green coffee and moringa in combinations with high fat diet showed improvement in all parameters compared with HFD group. Treatment with Green coffee , Moringa or mixture of them in combinations with HFD showed in significant change in Insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and Leptin hormones compared with normal control group and also showed marked improvement of ovarian tissue and depleted the histopathological changes especially green coffee which scored the best results.
