The system of drug production and discovery is very complicated, costing more effort and resources along with time during the process of drug development. Just a handful of the research and development activities enter the market and emerge as a new drug entity or formulation after years of tedious work and blowing up millions of dollars. But if we consider the amount of research and development success outcomes, relative to the loss, it is much less. So bioinformatics is the branch that could minimise mistakes, resources, and times during the process of drug production and discovery. This branch can therefore, definitely modulate the process of drug production and discovery and effectively generate costs and time. This analysis elaborates on the various aspects of bioinformatics applicable to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The text below covers the brief description, classification and organisational method of bioinformatics. Information were also highlighted various bioinformatics software, drug production and discovery applications, biotechnology and related sectors of interest.
