Sleep disorders are very common among the student population. This can affect the overall health of an individual and can cause many problems over time. Their signs and symptoms are to be studied and students should be well aware of them so that they can turn to prevent and cure it. Sleep disorders are a group of conditions that can affect the ability of an individual to fall asleep or stay asleep on a regular basis. It could either be caused by other health problems or excessive stress. Depending on the type of disorder, people may have a difficulty falling asleep and may feel extremely tired throughout the day. The lack of sleep can have an affect on the overall health of an individual impacting their energy levels, mood, concentration and focus. If left untreated, these negative impacts of sleep disorders can further lead to serious health consequences. They can affect your performance art work, cause strain on relationships and impact your ability to perform daily activities. 68.16% of dental college students were aware and have knowledge of sleep disorders. Information about the sleep disorders are well available, but less work has been done on effective strategies that help promote sleep as a healthy behaviour . Sleep problems include snoring, sleep apnea, insomnia, sleep deprivation and restless legs syndrome. It’s common for people to experience difficulties sleeping occasionally but it’s not normal when people have regular problems falling or staying asleep and to wake up and feel dull and exhausted throughout the day.
