A Hospital Based Cross Sectional Study:Distribution of study ladies according to usage of family planning methods and previous history of hypertension

Abstract: Pregnancy induced hypertension has been an important health obstacle in the community belonging to all advanced and evolving countries causative of maternal and perinatal deaths and illness worldwide. Nevertheless the influence of the problem is very severe in developing countries. The problematic disease is mystified due to its etiological irregular nature of the disease. Due to this an intervention during the birth process including initialrecognition of pregnancy induced hypertension and its associated risk factors at the regular antenatal checkups may progress maternal and fetal results. Since only very few studies were available connected to the occurrence and associated inclining factors for pregnancy persuaded hypertension , the current study was started to measure the prevalence of pregnancy persuaded hypertension and to gage the predisposing factors for PIH, with the intention of suitable actions shall be taken to decrease deaths and illness of pregnant mothers and child wellbeing. These risk factors showed statistically significant association with PIH. About more than 3/4th of the antenatal mothers had edema during pregnancy (91.5%) and had moderate form of hypertension (66.0%). On multiple logistic regression analysis, significant independent determinants for PIH were variables such as parity, consumption of oil fried foods, salt intake, family history of hypertension, family planning methods used and physical activity of pregnant ladies.
