The study aims to assess the knowledge, awareness and perception about Bioprosthetic denture system(BPS) dentures among dental undergraduate students. The present cross-sectional study was conducted by distributing an online survey among dental undergraduate students with clinical experience in Chennai. A total of 90 participants filled the survey completely. Descriptive and inferential statistics were performed using SPSS by IBM, version 22.0. The significance level for the chi-square analysis was set at 0.05 and values greater than that were considered statistically not significant. Interns(16.67%) were having more awareness about BPS denture systems. A chi square analysis was performed and the results obtained were statistically significant (p=0.001). Interns(5.56%) were having more awareness about the BPS denture system using a different method of teeth setting when compared to conventional dentures. A chi square analysis was performed and the results obtained were statistically not significant (p=0.075). Interns(10.00%) were having more awareness about impressions in BPS systems using Accu-tray and Gnathometer M. A chi square analysis was performed and the results obtained were statistically not significant (p=0.044). Interns(16.67%) were having more awareness about Ivoclar teeth being used for BPS dentures. A chi square analysis was performed and the results obtained were statistically significant (p=0.016). Interns (10.00%) were having more awareness about the BPS system using the Stratos range of articulators. A chi square analysis was performed and the results obtained were statistically significant (p=0.033).From the above survey, we conclude that knowledge and awareness about BPS denture systems is extremely low despite its various advantages over conventional acrylic dentures.
