Abstract:

Perforation of tooth results in communication of root canal with periodontal structures. The causes of the tooth perforation could be either due to iatrogenic or non iatrogenic reasons. Prognosis of the tooth with perforation depends on various factors like location of the perforation, the duration the perforation is open for contamination, feasibility of sealing the perforation and accessibility of the main canal. Treatment options for perforated teeth includes routine endodontic treatment, correction via the chamber, surgical correction, and stimulation of calcification. Therefore the aim of my study is to form a protocol or a guideline for effective management of various types of endodontic perforation.
