Synthesis and Study The Antioxidant Activities of Some Schiff Bases

| Abstract:

Schiff bases with pyrimidine ring 3-6 as deriatives of compound 2 were synthesized, compound 2 have been synthesized from chalcone derivative 3-(6-methoxynaphthalen-2-yl)-1-(naphthalen-1-yl)prop-2-en-1-one 1 which is obtained from 1-Acetylnaphthaline condencing with 6-Methoxy-2-naphthaldehyde. Finally the products were characterized by Infrared spectroscopy and instrumental methods, which was diagnosed their structures. In this research we studied the free radical scavenging activities, by using the stable free radical compound {"1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picryl-hydrazil (DPPH•)"} for some of synthesized compounds.
