Similarity and Distance Indices Among Sinorhizobium meliloti strains isolated from Medicago sativa L. and Trigonella foenum graecum L. in Mosul city.

Author: MOHAMMED NUH AL-KHAFAF, ALAA SAEED SHEET, IBTISAM N. AL-ASSAF
Abstract: We investigated the genetic variation of 4 Sinorhizobium meliloti isolates recovered from nodules of Medicago sativa and Trigonella foenum graecum cultivars in Mosul soils . The bacterial strains showed similar levels of tolerance toward some external factors. DNA polymorphism and similarity and distance indices were analyzed with the randomly amplified polymorphic DNA after performing classical diagnoses methods . All isolated revealed one mega plasmid except one was carried two. The isolates distributed though genetic variance into two main groups ,one of them represented with one isolates and the other was divided to two subgroups contain three other strains. Genetic factor was affected on bacterial diversity more than individual plants and abiotic conditions .
