Non – steroidal anti – inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) are the maximum common utilized analgesics globally. NSAID’S exert anti-inflammatory, analgesic & antipyretic effects by decreasing prostaglandins (PG) synthesis through inhibition of enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX). They majorly target Gastro intestinal tract & Kidney and results in many complications such as gastritis, nephritis ending up even in chronic renal failure (CRF) and end stage renal disease (ESRD). Renal effects of NSAID’s include decreased GFR, abnormal renal excretion. It was known from the studies that the incidence of usage of NSAID’s increasing from December 2015 to 2017, out of 1830 patients on analgesics, 49 are induced with nephropathy. This case report illustrates about the patient who is on NSAID’s since 3 months for the treatment of chronic inflammatory polyarthritis had developed chronic kidney disease. This article summarizes how NSAID’s might disturb the kidney functioning under clinical conditions like polyarthritis.
